Well that's another semester down and one more to go. People keep
asking me what I'm going to do after graduation and I like the
analogy of a medieval map where it's all just unknown after some
point and they fill it in with sea monsters and sirens and stuff.
Yeah, it's like that. Except in my blank spaces it says "Beware:
Here Be Shitty Service Industry Jobs". I'm sure I'll just continue
to get more useless education. And I mean useless in the best way.
Not as a means to an end, just for the joy of it. As far as I'm concerned, useless is a great thing. All art is fundamentally
useless. That's the beauty of it. That's how I want my life to be.
No reason, no purpose, just be. No actually that's just how life IS
I just want to make it explicit. It's hard to explain to people that you very specifically want your life to be a shining example of complete purposelessness though. Especially your parents. I can't even really express it now. Buh, whatever. Going to school in a new place is always a good reason to move there and I've been in Chicago as long as I've been anywhere in the last 8 years or so. Who knows? It's all giant squids and table waiting jobs out there.
